He was the son of James and Winifred (nee Emens) McDonald. He passed away at the age of 76, and resided in Woodhaven. He had also previously lived in Flat Rock. He was a retired teacher and football coach. He and his wife Sheryl had both taught at Carlson High School in Gibraltar before their retirements. He had coached football there, and he was in both the Carlson High School and the Michigan High School Halls of Fame. He was preceded in death in 2009, by his beloved wife, Sheryl (nee Rogers) McDonald. He will be dearly missed by his step-daughter, Jennifer Moyes, his brother, Al (Karen) McDonald, his nephew, Jim (Anne) McDonald, his niece, Melissa (Chas) Sawyer, and his great nieces and nephews. Also by his dear friends. The Funeral Service was performed by Rev. Stephen Perrine, pastor of the South Rockwood United Methodist Church.
