Evelyn Ollie Lester Finney, 72, of Paris, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her home while surrounded by her family. Mrs. Finney, the daughter of Marvin “Mutt” & Edna Barnes Lester, was born June 21, 1943, in Paris.
She attended J. G. Wooten School. Her career as a home health aide spanned a number of years. Evelyn was a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ann Lester, her parents, three brothers, Monroe Lester, Robert Lester and Roger Dale Lester and one sister, Dorothy Lester.
Survivors include her husband, Grady Finney, whom she married on April 22, 1972, building 43 years of memories, two daughters, Sandra Simmons and husband Rodger and Susan Parker all of Paris, grandchildren, Beverly Minter & husband Kwame, Tiffany Winchester & husband Leon and Stoney Stout all of Paris, great grandchildren, Brooklyn Cox, Dylan Dawson, Dalton Dawson, Kaelyn Lalonde, Devin Dawson and Ashlyn Cox all of Paris, two sisters, Ruth Cooper & husband Ed and Opal Hunter & husband David all of Paris, three brothers, Paul Lester & wife Frances, Charlie Lester & wife Elaine and Marion Lester & wife Linda all of Paris along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, July 14th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
