THE PARIS NEWS, Dec. 30, 2010: "James Monroe Lester, 69, of Pattonville passed from this life Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Paris Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Hines officiating. Interment is to follow in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family is to receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born April 23, 1941, in Paris, a son of Marvin and Edna Barnes Lester. He attended Paris schools, and worked as a truck driver for Load Trail Trailers. He married Carolyn Foster on June 17, 1960, in Hugo, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother, Robert Lester, and a sister, Dorothy Lester. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of the home; a son, Danny Wayne Lester and wife, Betty Sue, of Pattonville; two daughters, Kathie Ann Williams and husband, Lyle, of Bogata, and Brenda Lee Sisson and fiancé, Michael Smith, of Paris; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Janes, Brandon Williams, Cody Williams, April Davidson, Jennifer Brown, Toni Brem, Heather George, Hannah Sisson, Taylor Henson and Anthony Lester; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Marion Lester, Charlie Lester and Paul Lester, all of Paris; three sisters, Opal Hunter, of Powderly, Evelyn Finney, of Paris, and special sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ed Cooper, of Paris. Named to serve as pallbearers are Larry Sisson, Shawn Brown, Stacy Janes, Ed Cooper, Lyle Williams and Daniel Lee. He was loved dearly by his family and friends. He will be missed.
