Sarah Jane "Martha"(Randles) Castor/Caster was the daughter of Elizabeth (Chaney) and Abraham Randles Sr. She married Benjamin Castor on 1/27/1848 in Holmes County, Ohio. Source: Holmes County, Ohio Marriage Records. Benjamin was the son of Sarah (Gwin) (born about 1800) and Jacob Castor/Caster. Benjamin Castor died in Poweshiek Co. Iowa & is buried in (see below) Old Victor Cemetery. His brother James as well as several Gwin family members are buried there also. On my first visit to Salem Cemetery around 1994, there was a fairly NEW tombstone several rows from Elizabeth (Chaney) Randles & Abraham Randles tombstone inscribed "Sarah J. Caster - wife of Abran Randles???" Lately there is a BRAND NEW tombstone inscribed with "Sarah wife of Abram Randles" ? Can someone reading this please explain? This should read DAUGHTER of ! Martha (Sarah) Castor is listed in the 1860 Federal Census for Clark Twp. Coshocton County at age 32, with "Benj Castor", age 37. Their children are: Sarah age 12, Phebe age 9, Rebecca Emma age 4 and James Seward age 2. In 1870 Sarah, born in Ohio is widowed and living in Sherman Twp., Jasper County, Iowa with children: Emma,age 14, J.Seward age 13, Nellie age 9 and Della age 7. They are still living in this same Twp., County & State in 1880.
