Lillian M. Weigel was born July 22, 1943, to Frank and Barbara (Senger) Weigel in Bismarck, ND. As a young child, she moved to Aberdeen with her family and attended St. Mary’s Parochial School. Following graduation from Aberdeen Central High School in 1961, Lillian moved to Minneapolis, where she resided for one year before returning to Aberdeen.

Upon her return, Lillian began what would become a 44-year career working at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital before retiring in 2009. She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

Lillian was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen where she was active in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was also a member of the Lamps Prayer Group at Avera St. Luke’s for many years. Lillian loved sports and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins.

Blessed to have shared in Lillian’s life is her sister, Arvilla Rose Ernst; one brother, Dennis (Frances) Weigel; one niece and seven nephews.

Lillian’s parents, brother-in-law, Myron Ernst, and nephew, Daniel Ernst, preceded her in death.
