Kathryn M. (Airey) Roe, 63, earned her heavenly wings on July 16, 2015 while in hospice care at King City Manor, King City, MO.
She was born on May 22, 1952 to Floyd and Mildred (Maxfield) Airey at Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from Green Mountain High School, class of 1970. She continued her education at Marshalltown Community College and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant degree. She then started working at the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, Iowa. She went to Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she graduated as an LPN. She brought her skill and knowledge back to IVH where she continued to work for many years. She married Rene Roe on March 12, 1989 and to this union a son, Daniel, was born. They lived in Marshalltown and moved to Webster City, Iowa. Later they moved to King City, MO., where the union ended in divorce. She continued to live the remainder of her life in King City. She has been a resident of the King City Manor for the last year where she has battled a lengthy illness. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in King City and was presently an active member of the Christian Church in King City.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish her memories are her son Daniel Roe, St. Joseph, MO; her friend and confidant, Mike Heath, King City, MO; brother, Raymond (Kathleen) Airey, Marshalltown, Iowa; sister, Karen Roe, Marshalltown, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 21 at First Christian Church in King City, MO. Inurnment will be at a later date in Green Mountain, Iowa.
