Daughter of James Clark and Elizabeth Smith, wife of George William Gilbert and mother of Iola (married William Smith Kellum), Horace, Anna (married Adam Hill), Edward, Emma (married Frank Goldsmith), Myrtle (married Alonzo Skinner, married Richmond Conklin), May (married Joseph S. Annable), Rosella, Adrian Pierre, Jane M. (married W.D. Hopkins), and Helen Gilbert.

Obituary - Mrs. Betsy Ann Gilbert, the widow of the late Dr. George W. Gilbert, died at her home on Fairview Avenue, Bayport, on Tuesday evening at the age of 83 years. The funeral services, which will be private, will be held from her late home tomorrow, the Rev. Joseph H. Bond officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. Surviving are nine daughters, Mrs. W.S. Kellum of Babylon, Mrs. Anne Hill of Riverhead, Mrs. Frank Goldsmith of Irvington, N.J., Mrs. Richard Conklin of Peconic, Mrs. Clarence Southworth of Braintree, Mass., Mrs. J.S. Annable of Bayport, Mrs. Jane Hopkins of Newark, N.J., and the Misses Rosella and Helen Gilbert of Bayport; and by one son, Edward Gilbert of Nutley, N.J.

Mrs. Gilbert had been blind for more than a year, but in other respects her health was good and she was up and about until a short time before her death. She talked to her daughters until a few minutes before she passed peacefully away.
