Obituary of Martha Gobble
Former Resldent succumbs at Son's Home in Virginia (1948) (Wyoming newspapers)

Word was received this week of the death of Mrs. Martha Guess Gobble, who
passed away June 10 at the home of her son, Joe Gobble at Abbington,'Va., at
the age of 95 years, 2 months, 15 days.
Mrs. Gobble was born March 25, 1855. In August, 1877 she was married to
Elijah Gobble, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1938.
The deceased came to Lingle in 1896 and had been a resident of this area
until 1946 when she went to her old home in Virginia where she had been living
with her son for the last-two years.

She leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. George Ritterling of Guernsey; four
sons, Arthur B. of Lingle, Con F. of Torrington, Albert of Lingle and Joe of
Abingdon, Va.
Other than her husband who preceded her in death, one daughter died in in-
fancy, and a son Edward D., was a victim of World War I. His name is
connected with the local Legion post. ‘
She leaves besides her children 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren
and one great great grandchild.
