Mary Brom also used ( Marie ) Brom ZAK , was probably born in Chicago,Illinois. Her family was from Bohemia. She married John Frank Zak, January 14,1889 and together had 14 children. Two children died as infants. This left 12 children for them to raise. Mary Brom Zak was diagnosed with cancer when a young woman. She was cured by a miracle because her husband led the family in prayer to spare her life.
