He and his wife, Jackie, were janitors at Wesley United Methodist Church for seven years. He had worked for Al Martin Real Estate & Auction, which he enjoyed extremely. Surviving are his wife, Jackie; four daughters, Teresa Martin of Tulsa, Okla., Joy (Mike) Orona of Ottumwa, Kathy (Mark) Vander Meiden of Oskaloosa and Diana (Stan) Swartz of Ottumwa; two sons, David (Judy) Parr of Kaufman, Texas, and Daniel Parr of Ottumwa; two stepsons, Mike (Diane) Bukowski of Texas and Jim (Marcelin) Bukowski of Ottumwa; four stepdaughters, Karen Bukowski, Cindy Leedom, and Michelle (Scott) Chapman, all of Ottumwa, and Renaie Parr of Cedar Rapids; 28 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Erma Jean (Barney) Conder of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Parr, and a brother, Lauren "Speedy" Parr. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Immatteo-Code officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today with the family present from 5-7 p.m. today.
