A son of Mr. Lafayette Kepler, of Westport, aged 15 years, while assisting in uploading a heavy timber stick on Friday, at Fish Dam Run, had the misfortune of having his foot badly crushed by the stick falling on it.

Lafayette died on June 3, 1899 at Shintown, Clinton County, PA. He was buried at the Fairview Cemetery.

Lafayette Kepler of Shintown, died in that place Saturday of liver and stomach trouble, aged 74 years. A wife and seven children survive. The funeral took place this afternoon.

Well Known Man Dead.
Mr. Lafayette Kepler died at his home at Shintown, Saturday morning after an illness of three months. The deceased was 74 years and is survived by his wife and seven children, A. L., Robert, of Renovo, Charles and Leland and Mrs. C Federate of Emporium, L. B., of Ridgway, Hester H. E. Ball of Bradford. Mr. Kepler was born in the neighborhood in which he died, and that was his home during all his life with the exception of eighteen months spent in Clearfield. The funeral took place Monday afternoon.

Lafayette Kepler, an aged and respected citizen of Shintown, died at his home, Saturday, the 3d inst. He had been suffering from kidney and liver trouble for the past six months. He was 75 years of age and is survived by a wife and seven grown children, viz: Leland and Charles Kepler of Shintown, Robert and Amos Kepler of Renovo; Mrs. Chas. Cannon of Emporium; Mrs. A. L. Fetter of Ridgway and Mrs. Edward Ball of Bradford, Pa. The funeral took place Monday afternoon. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.

3 Elsie married William Whipple in 1869. He died in 1882 and she married Jacob Liddic, a widow also. She is last at Lyc Cty 1891 listed as widow of Wm Whipple b abt 1852, and there is a death notice for Mrs Wm Whipple Jan of 1894 (which she is not found in any records after that). Her son Jediah "Jet" died in 1934 and his death certificate lists parents Wm Whipple and Else Kepler. There was also a daughter, Scenie Whipple, but no other record of her.

A son of Mr. Lafayette Kepler, of Westport, aged 15 years, while assisting in uploading a heavy timber stick on Friday, at Fish Dam Run, had the misfortune of having his foot badly crushed by the stick falling on it.

Mr. Lafayette Kepler died at his home at Shintown, Saturday morning after an illness of three months. The deceased was 74 years and is survived by his wife and seven children, A. L., Robert, of Renovo, Charles and Leland and Mrs. C Federate of Emporium, L. B., of Ridgway, Hester H. E. Ball of Bradford. Mr. Kepler was born in the neighborhood in which he died, and that was his home during all his life with the exception of eighteen months spent in Clearfield.
