Wife of, and secretery to, Dr. George R. Helsley, Jr., an osteopath and internist. Margaree and George were active members of the Seventh-Day Adventist church, and travelled to South America twice as medical missionaries. They operated two clinics in Memphis for many years, were very popular, and are still talked about by their neighbors, friends, and patients. They operated an import business, explored alternative healthcare means and methods, and helped finance the renovation of their church.

Margaree was a graphic artist, and loved beautiful things. She particularly liked flowers and small animals, planting flowers, shrubs and fruit trees, and adopting the neighborhood cats.

We now believe Mrs. Helsley studied nursing, in preparation for their South American missions trips, and in order to be more useful in the clinics.

[I believe this spelling of her first name to be correct. This is, unfortunately, a BU (burial unknown). She was 67 at her death, so I have extrapolated a seculative birth year. Her name is pronounced as "Marjorie", and that is the spelling I originally posted. She signed her artwork "M. Gibson" or "M. Helsley", which only helps with the maiden name. George donated his body for surgical training, so he may have done the same with hus wife's. If anyone knows for sure, and ESPECIALLY if you have ANY burial information, please contact me.]
