Mrs. McClure was practically a lifetime resident of Crawford and Lawrence Counties. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville; the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Royal Neighbors of America and The Purple Heart Moms.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. William Thomas McClure, Jr., Richard Alden McClure and Stephen Lindsay McClure; one brother, James Emmons; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas McClure; one son, Jerome Emmons McClure, a casualty of the Korean War and one grandson, William Thomas McClure III.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Burial was in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
