Abbot Dubois entered the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance at Mont-des-Cats Abbey in 1947. He professed solemn vows in 1954, and was ordained a Catholic priest on July 15, 1957. He served as Novice Master of Monte-des-Cats in 1965, and was named Prior of the abbey in 1972. He was sent to the Abbey of La Trappe in 1976, and was named Abbot the following year. He was a prolific author, and among his many interests were Liturgical reform and the history of the Cistercian Order. He stepped down as abbot in 2003, and died 8 years later at the age of 81.
