Surgeon Mate in the Revolutionary War. Continental Line. Will filed in Wayne County, Indiana and signed on 19 Aug 1828 mentions wife Sarah, sons - Thomas and Levin, and his other children. The other children are not named in the will. An old cemetery reading does not include this stone and by the dates it can seen that the stone is newer. The cemetery is filled with his descendants and by the will it appears it is for the same George Stevenson as detailed in the below bio. The dates are slightly off between the bio and stone for the birth and death dates so either there is a slight error in the bio or on the recreated tombstone. Either way it seems apparent that it is for the same family based on who is buried in this cemetery.
