Info from "The Stewarts of Coitsville", pub 1899, p7: "Hugh was born near Glasgow, 1719; died in Paxtang township, six miles east of Harrisburg, Pa., 1798, and lies buried in Covenanter graveyard, three miles east of Harrisburg. Hugh came to America with his brother Samuel in 1735 (aged 16) to Chestnut Level, Lancaster County, settling finally in Paxtang, Dauphin County. He was a handsome man, of more than ordinary height. He married first, in 1750, Hannah Dallas, born 1727, in Ireland, died 1760, and lies besides her husband. They had issue [see publication for full dates and marriages]: Jane 1751-1824, John 1753-?, William 1757-?, and Hugh (a cripple) 1759-?, Robert 1765-?, Samuel 1767-?, Joseph 1769-?, James 1774-?, Mary 1778-1853.
