JOE YOUNG, WORLD WAR VETERAN, DIES IN CASPER, FRIDAY
Funeral Services and Burial Held in the Natrona City Monday Afternoon

Joe Young, 40, World war veteran, died Friday night in a Casper hospital following a prolonged illness. Mr. Young had been receiving treatment at the Veterans hospital at Fort Lyon, Colo., and had only went to Casper a short time ago.

Mr. Young, an expert auto mechanic, engaged in business during 1925 and 1926 at the Coliseum Motor Co. stand in Douglas. After disposing of his interest, he remained as head mechanic, and only about two months ago decided to take a vacation in an effort to improve his health. He was an unusually good workman and always willing to assist and oblige those in need of his services, and in this way he accumulated a multitude of loyal friends here and in Casper.

Joe Young was born July 30, 1892, at Cambria, Wyo. He was wounded while serving with the 361st infantry in the St. Mihiel sector during the World war. He was a member of Hilton Miller post No. 2241, Veterans of Foreign wars, at Douglas, and the Odd Fellows lodge here. He was a brother-in-law of Charles Cranston, 543 South Park street, Casper.

He is survived by his widow, Abora Young, and one son, Ferris, both of Casper, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Rudge of Great Falls, Mont.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Gay Mortuary in Casper with Rev. Chas. A. Wilson, pastor of the First Presbyterian there, officiating. The Powder River post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Casper, conducted military services at the grave in Highland cemetery.

Pallbearers were P. Van Oosten, Jake T. Thompson, C. A. Springstreen, George McFall, W. H. Scott and Chick Softon.
