Ingwal Estrem Died on Sunday

Ingwal Estrem died Sunday evening at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He had been a patient there since the last day of October when he suffered a heart attack. He was 87 years old.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 2 p. m. at Bethlehem Church with Rev. W. A. Adix officiating.

Nilus Ihle was soloist and he was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Robert Nerem.

Pallbearers were Vernon Peterson, Darrel Baumgardner, Robert Cook, Norman Magg, Bruce Thorsen and David Erickson. Honorary pallbearers were Wm. Goodale and Robert Ruggles.

Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery at Slater.

He is survived by two sons, Charles of Slater and LeRoy of Altoona; four daughters, Mrs. Emmett (Irma) Holland of Nevada, Mrs. Gurton (Mildred) Erickson of Cambridge, Gladys Estrem at home and Mrs. Veryl (Arlene) Ruggles of Nevada; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers and five sisters. They are Nels of Salem, Ore., Howard of Ames, Art of Madrid and Bert of Slater; Mrs. Tille Largent of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Hilda Van Scoy of Ames, Mrs. Mabel Trumbull and Mrs. Cedric (Beatrice) Anderson of Sheldahl and Mrs. Oley (Hattie) Houge of Slater.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Belle; his parents and a brother, Andrew who died earlier this year.

Mr. Estrem spent most of his life in this vicinity and farmed northeast of Slater for many years and continued to live on the farm also after he was no longer actively able to farm.
