Mildred A. Baines, 95

January 20, 1920 ~ August 15, 2015

Our beloved Mom was born in Monowi, Nebraska, one of eight children in a farming family.

She moved to Omaha after graduating from Lynch High School, where later she met Dad.

They married in 1943 and welcomed twelve children. She always glowed with pride at the mention of her kids, and never wavered from always being there for us all. The loss of two sons in childhood, and the eldest last year, made us all stronger as a family. Their Catholic faith was a source of strength to our parents.

Mom enjoyed their lake home at Lake Waconda for many years. Her hobbies included sewing for her family, bowling, golf, and friends, but mostly she enjoyed family gatherings with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

We strive to follow her example of never saying a bad word about anybody. We love you Mom, and will miss you always.

Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Carrie Vlcan; husband, Bert J. Baines; sons: Dennis, Mark, and Michael; five brothers and two sisters.

Survived by 9 children, 27 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday, August 19th, followed at 7 pm by Vigil Service, at the West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road. Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Thursday, August 20th at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice.
