Obituary of Frank A. Vlcan, Sr.
Funeral services for Frank A. Vlcan, Sr., age 84, were held on Friday, March 15, 1963 from St. Ludgers Catholic Church at Creighton, Nebr. with Rev. Paul Schneider officiating assisted by Rev. Roland Peschel. Music was furnished by the St. Ludgers choir.
Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery at Lunch, besides his sons, Henry and Joseph.
Cemetery services were conducted by Rev. James F. Bartek, assisted by the Alter Boys.
Mr. Vlcan passed away Tuesday, March 12 at a Norfolk hospital. He was born at Prague, Nebraska, December 14, 1878. He was married to Carrie Mashek [sic] January 8, 1902 at Weston, Nebr. They lived on a farm near Monowi, Nebr. and they endured the hardship of the early days. They retired and moved to Creighton, Nebraska 12 years ago.
He is survived by his beloved wife Carrie, Mrs. Adolf (Rose) Stoural, Creighton, Veneil, Lincoln, Nebr., Charles, Grand Island, Frank, Monowi, Nebr. Emil, Caolinga, Calif., Mrs.Bert (Mildred) Baines, Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. Hubert (Helen) McGreevy, Denver, Colorado; 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Thomas Vlcan, Monowi, Nebr.
He was preceded in death by two sons Henry and Infant son Joseph; brothers: John, Louis and Andrew and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Josephine) Maly.
