KAMIENIK, Ryszard (Dick) - After a lengthy illness at York Finch Hospital, on Monday November 2, 1981, Ryszard Kamienik, beloved husband of Hildegard and dear father of William, Julia, Hilda, Elizabeth and Robert. Also survived by 11 grandchildren. Resting at the funeral chapel of Wm Speers, 2926 Dundas St W (near Keele), complete service in the chapel, Wednesday at 2 o'clock. Creamation
NOTE: Ryszard's father's name was Francisek Kamienik, and his mother's name was Julia Malinowska. Ryszard has a younger brother who's name I don't know, but when their father Frantisek died they were both very young. Their mother Julia remarried to an unknown Torrynski, and they had a child named Roman. Julia died in Poland October 28 1982. I do not know which cemetery Frantisek or Julia are buried in. Ryszard (my dad), met and married Hildeguard Romisch (my mom), when he was in Germany in 1947. They had three children. Ryszard at the age of 27 immigrated to Canada in 1951. He sailed on the Norwegian Liner, Cargo Ship, the M.V. Goya and arrived in Halifax N.S. on Feb 16, 1951. He then went to Toronto ON, and got a job. He first lived in a room on Logan Ave. He saved up all his money and got a flat on 49 Spencer Ave. and then sent for his wife Hildeguard and his children, Whilhem, Julie & Hilda to come to Canada.
