Born in Bornish, Parkhill, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada. Daughter of Donald McGinnis (MacInnes) and his wife Ann (McIsaac), both born in Inverness shire, Scotland. Annie immigrated in 1875 to Sheridan, Michigan. There she married Rory McDonald in Gagetown in 1889. Together they had 5 children.
