Alex P. Tomchek, 77, of 1016 S. 24th St., Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. His brothers, the Rev. Casimir Tomczyk and Rev. Joseph Tomczyk will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Tomchek was born Nov. 3, 1899, at Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph and Anna Kaczaka Tomczyk. He married Lucille Janczeski April 27, 1941, at St. Mary Catholic Church. He was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding, Inc., Manitowoc for 47 years retiring in 1965. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 710 of Manitowoc and Boilermakers Local 443.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Manitowoc; five brothers, the Rev. Casimir of Manitowoc, The Rev. Joseph of East Krok, Wis., Stanley and Martin of Manitowoc and Steve, of Chicago; nieces and nephews. A sister, Sophie preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus, relatives and friends.
