Louis D. Primus, 89, cherished father, grandfather and brother, passed into the care of his Lord Jesus on April 24, 2004, at his daughter’s home in Green Valley, Ariz.

He was born in Fairchild, Wis., on August 14, 1914, to Frank and Diane Primus.

He married his beloved Lillian in 1933, and lived to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.

He was a devoted member of St. John’s Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus and Lions Club.

Louis, a self-made man, was successful at many careers. In 1944, he graduated from Reisch American School of Auctioneering, and became a successful and entertaining auctioneer. He served many years as chairman of town of Cleveland and chairman of Jackson County Board. Some of his many careers included farming, buying and selling farmland and livestock. He owned and operated the Big Garage in Fairchild, a service station where he sold cars, farm machinery and tires. He established the Fairchild Auto Parts Store that expanded to Augusta, Osseo and Bloomer. He later went into banking and became president of 1st Financial Bank (now Associated Bank) and then served on the Board of Directors for many years. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.

He was a compassionate man and helped many people in their time of need.

Louis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian; two sons, Michael and Jerry; daughter, Peggy Abrahamson; sister, Marian; brother, George.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Lawrence Emer), Patricia (Charles Miller), Joan (Gary Weida), Judy (Joe Geis; son-in-law, Bernard Abrahamson; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; his brothers, John, Ben and Don (Juanita) Primus; sisters, Fran (Don Sliwinski), Elizabeth Schuller and Lee Clark.

His Resurrection Mass was held on May 8, 2004, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fairchild.

Beloved Louis will be greatly missed by all who loved and admired him.
