Born in Tamaqua on September 16, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Martha (nee Stewart) Oberman. A 1953 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Barbara worked for the former Pomeroy's, Pottsville, PA; the former Bright's Store; the Panther Valley School District cafeteria; the Dollar General Store, Tamaqua and the A & P, Tamaqua prior to retiring. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua. Husband survives: John Starry Jr.
Barbara was also predeceased by brothers, Alvin Oberman and Richard Oberman and sister, Dorothy Barrett.
