He is not to be confused with another Nathan Rose who came to Wheeler after he did. Even though he was older than the subject Nathan here, he was called Nathan 2nd because he came after the subject Nathan here did.

It appears that these two Nathans were cousins.

The subject Nathan was married to Lydia Shattuck, daughter of Randall Shattuck. He had another brother Timothy Rose who m Esther (Curtis) Johnson, widow of Dr. Adams Johnson, of Augusta, Oneida, New York.

These three Rose brothers had a sister, first name unknown, and married to a Timothy (?) Capen.

Nathan's mother was Mary Wheeler related to the Wheelers in this area. Interestingly his cousin Nathan married a Wheeler too, a Ruth Wheeler. She died and was buried here in the Wheeler. Nathan then married a Sarah Leach, and they left for Michigan where he died.
