Charles was the son of Curvin Hake and Minnie Gable. Charles married Dorothy Romaine Bear on 25 November 1943.

"MANCHESTER Charles L. Hake, 75, of 1855 Canal Road, who was a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, died Monday morning at his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy R. (Bear) Hake. A graveside service will be 1 1 a.m. Wednesday at - Quickels Cemetery, Zion View. Viewing will be 7 to . 9 tonight at the L.E. Diehl Funeral Home Inc., 87 S. . Main St., Mount Wolf.

Mr. Hake was bom in Manchester Township, the son of the late Curvin and Minnie (Gable) Hake. He was a longtime resident of Zion View.

Mr. Hake is survived by a son, John R. Hake, York; two daughters, Mary Kann, Manchester, and Peggy Nace, Mount Wolf; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy Hake, East Berlin, and Arthur Hake, York Haven. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Charles Spangler."
