Einar "Eddie" Svaabek was born on May 23, 1904, in Norway. He came into the US as Aanon Einar Aanonsen Svåbaek in Nov. 1926 from Oslo, Norway to New York, New York on the SS Bergensfjord

His enlistment record showed that he enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 9, 1942 at Fort Jay, Governors Island. His civilian occupation was listed as "semi-skilled construction occupations".

He applied to be a U.S. citizen on October 19, 1943; His citizenship application papers showed that he lived in New York, specifically 7311 3rd Ave. Brooklyn, Kings, NY:

According to a city directory, in 1952, he and his wife lived at 90 E Cherry Street, in Rahway, NJ. He was listed as a carpenter.

At some point, they moved to 302 N Cumberland Ave. Mount Holly, NJ

Einar and his wife were buried about 12 miles away in Pointville Cemetery. The town of Pointville ceased to exist in 1942 when the U.S. Army/Fort Dix bought the land and expanded the fort. Einar's wife grew up in Mount Holly; she and her family were friends with many Pointville residents.
