On Monday, 31 August 2015, Margaret (Marge) Kohl Stevick, 88, left us to ‘sing and chat with Jesus, Mary and the angels’. She was born in Houtzdale, PA, to Louis and Elizabeth Kohl, on 05 April 1927. Marge had her first job at the FBI in the fingerprint shop. At a YMCA dance, she met the most wonderful man to whom she became married on 30 August 1953 for the next 57 years – Richard (Dick) V. Stevick (predeceased). As the children grew older, she resumed work for Bell Atlantic as a frame-room technician and subsequently as a service representative. She was a valued member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church community where she sang in the choir for over 40 years and enthusiastically led the Ladies of Charity. With her love of music and her children whom she had encouraged to play instruments, Marge organized and administered the West Laurel Rag Tag Band and often sang and met with her friends at the Laurel Senior Friendship Club. She always enjoyed a travel adventure to see/experience new places. As a great role model, Marge was always willing to help and always making friends wherever she went. She especially enjoyed her family and neighbors – especially the little ones – and feeding/watching her birds. She is survived by her children Richard (married to Doris), William (married to Gayle), Jean (married to Ronald G. Lawrence), Joseph (married to Judith) and Catherine (married to Timothy Kaulfuss); sisters Louise Hartley and Isabel R. Merrell and brother Francis J. Kohl. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Marge was predeceased by her siblings Kay, DeSales, Al and Marie.
