Arcadia – Funeral services held for Cloye Chandler Woodard, age 98, Feb 15, 2020 at Alabama Baptist Church. The interment at Alabama Cemetery.

Cloye was born July 16, 1921 in the Hurricane Community to Joe and Beatrice Fincher Chandler. She entered into rest on February 10, 2020, in Arcadia, Louisiana. Cloye graduated from Athens High School in 1939 where she was a 2 time All State Basketball player. She worked at Butler’s and JB White’s in Arcadia. Cloye loved working in her yard gardening, cooking, and was a seamstress. She also enjoyed dancing and was a great neighbor in her community.

Cloye is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Beatrice Chandler, husband Harold Woodard, brothers Ardis and Joel Chandler, sisters Doris Keen, Ruby Abercrombie, and Gloria Johnson, by stepsister Dorothy Dance, and son-in-law Don Spring.

She is survived by her daughters; Lanette Halverson and husband Dale of Arcadia, LA and Kaye Spring of Clay, LA, grandchildren; Alicia Lynch of Houston, TX, Angie Farmer of McKinney, TX, Jay Halverson of Benton, LA, Jennifer Spring of Shreveport, LA, and Toby Spring of Shreveport, LA, by her sisters; Johnnie Lear of Arcadia, LA and Peggy Hamel of Haughton, LA, grandchildren; Kelsey, Brooke, Noah, Jake, Averie and Colton, her great-great grandchildren Beau and Brady, and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Kem Keen, Jay Halverson, Toby Spring, Brian Woodard, Colton Halverson, and Gary Byas. Honorary pallbearers: Noah and Jake Tuma, James and John Ballance.
