• Alfonso Artrip, 73, of Wales Township died Wednesday, September 2, 2015. He was born March 2, 1942 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Jethro and Cora Jane Artrip. He married Virginia Irene McPhail on October 7, 1967.
• Mr. Artrip served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following the service he was employed as a millwright for 31 years with Chrysler Corporation. He played blue grass music his entire life, especially his guitar, banjo and mandolin.
• He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughters, Virginia Lynn Artrip and Donna Fay (Michael) Precour; grandsons, Michael and Mason Artrip; and granddaughters, Alexandria Precour and Gabrielle Precour who followed in her grandfather's love of music. He was preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters.
