Funeral Services of Basie Albritton

The remains of Basie Albritton were laid to rest in the family lot at the Prosperity church and cemetery Monday afternoon, 3 o'clock, the sad rites being conducted by Rev J T Flournoy. Edward Brothers of this city was in charge of funeral arrangements with the following as pallbearers: Messers E D Boswell, Vester Waters, R Harris, OE Lee, William Allen, and E D Crook. The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs A O Albritton; two brothers, Ambry Albritton and Julian Albritton; and a sister, Miss Myrtice Albritton.

Basie was involved in an automobile accident and thought he receive medical interventions but never regained consciousness. According to a statement made by Basie's 18 years old brother, Ambry, the driver of the car - a Model A, five passenger Ford - they were traveling at an average rate of speed when the left front wheel of the car ran off causing him loss of control of the steering wheel resulting in the accident.
