Arvil Rose was born December 24, 1943 in Rockcastle County and departed this life Friday, June 19, 2009 at his residence, being 66 years of age. He was the son of the late Eugene & Eudell Rose.
Arvil is survived by his wife Barbara (Martin) Rose of 44 years. He is also survived by two sisters- Helen Chaney of Tennessee and Viola Lamb of Ohio and by one brother- Cecil Rose and Devonna of Ohio.
Arvil had three daughters- Tammy Sparks (Gary Gabbard), Peggy Spurlock (Homer Fox) and Tracy Rose. He was blessed with five grandchildren- Brandi York & Michael, Alicia Ingram & Matt, Courtney Lohrey & Bobby, Brandon Keyton & Derek McWhorter and by six great-grandchildren- Jasper & Britey York, Lexi & Keegan Ingram and Ezekiel & Aidan Lohrey.
In addition to his parents, Arvil was also preceded in death by a brother- Whit Rose of Pennsylvania.
Arvil was a member of the Sand Gap Holiness Church.
Funeral service was held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Bowman officiating. Burial followed in the Tal Martin Cemetery.
