Esther Jones was the daughter of Morgan & Mary (Davis) Jones.
She was the sister of Sarah Jones who married Isaac Buckingham. Esther was 1 of 11 children. Only Esther & Sarah ended up in Woodford County, IL.
Esther was raised in the hills of Greene County, PA where she met and married her husband James Mundell. The couple married before 1815. They had 3 known sons, Samuel, Abner & Simeon. These boys are buried in this Buckingham cemetery.
But, this is getting ahead of things. In 1819 the family moved to Ohio Co, WV, then in 1827 to Wayne Co, IN. Esther's husband, James, died there in August of 1828.
Esther and her children soon came to Woodford County to live near her sister Sarah (Jones) Buckingham. (Note other Indiana Mundells also came with with Esther and stayed in Woodford County, Some Mundells moved on to Linn & Lewis Counties, MO.)
