CSA∼Richard Corbin, was born 30 Oct 1797 in what was then Pendleton District, South Carolina. He died in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Georgia, 4 Oct 1869-1870
He was a vetern of the 1828, Cherokee Indian Wars (removal) The then Bureau of Veterans Affairs, supplied his Tombsone.(notice spelling, Corben)
Richard's 2nd Wife Nancy Ann Yearnest Corbin, is buried beside him in an unmarked grave.
There is an Unauthorized Confederate tombsone, on his grave as well. Although Richard enlisted in the Confederacy at age 66, he never served. NOTE: Richard actually died 4 Oct 1869, of pneumonia, and is listed in the 1870 Georgia Death index. Which says Persons who died during the year ending 1 June, 1870. Dated 19 September, 1870.
