ADAMS, Cecil Age 75 of Tipp City, died peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Thursday, June 4, 2009. He was born on January 12, 1934 to his parents, Bonnie and Jim Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nell Swanson. He leaves to cherish his memory one son Doug Adams (Annette) and three grandchildren, Kara, Jessica, and Jacob, and one daughter Lynn Adams (Lisa Abel). Cecil leaves 3 sisters, Sara Nease, Betty Stamper (Wiley "B"), Lorraine Combs (Charlie), and one brother Estill (Nancy). Cecil also leaves many other family members and dear friends. Cecil married Joyce Reedy on June 20, 1959. He was an avid "Big Blue" Kentucky basketball fan 365 days a year, but dearly missed his sister and basketball buddy, Nell Swanson, who passed away earlier this year. If there were ever a Big Blue Fan Hall of Fame, Cecil and Nell will have front row seats. Cecil worked at Duriron for many years and then retired early to care for his beloved wife, Joyce, who had Alzheimerss disease for 12 years. In sickness and until her death he was by her side every step of the way. He loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren, Kara, Jessica a nd Jacob, who gave him great joy, comfort, and happiness until the very end of his life. He loved to go fishing with son Doug, who gave Cecil some of the best times of his life. And finally, he was blessed to have Annettes fabulous cooking, as she provided so many wonderful meals to Cecil during his ailing days. To our Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle, may your journey be peaceful and free of hardships that you endured in the last 18 years of your life. Your broken heart and your weary body are now at peace. You turned the soil and sewed the seeds that produced the most beautiful flowers over the years. And like your flowers you gave us all beauty and color in your own unique way and for that we will be forever grateful. We will keep you in our hearts for the rest of our days. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. by Rev. Douglas Jones. Interment Shiloh Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of Dayton in Cecils memory .
