Glenn C. Ferdon, age 92, of 2201 Richmond Avenue, Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon, September 8, 2015 at St. Mary's Next Step, Manitowoc.

He was born on August 5, 1923 in Manitowoc, son of the late Chester and Ella (Laabs) Ferdon. Glenn was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. After graduation, Glenn began his employment with Manitowoc Shipbuilding where he worked on the construction of submarines for the war effort. He entered the United States Navy during World War II serving in the South Pacific Theatre. On December 27, 1947 he married the former Charlotte G. Karl at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on November 21, 2007. Glenn was employed with Plumb & Nelson Wholesale Grocers most of his life and retired from the City of Manitowoc as a bridgetender.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Pat and Jim Keil, Manitowoc, Judy and John Niquette, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Scott (Jill) Keil, Reedsville, Kristin (Andy) Sorenson, Manitowoc, Kyle Niquette, Manitowoc, Kayla Niquette, Green Bay; four great grandchildren: Maya and Madeline Keil, Karenna and Turner Sorenson; one brother: Lloyd Ferdon, Manitowoc; and a sister-in-law: Elaine Hartl, Manitowoc. Nieces, other relatives and many friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo - 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Revs. David Beaudry and Gerald Foley with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 until 10:45 a.m.

He was a proud life member of the Manitowoc Elk's Club where he made many lifelong friendships. Glenn had a heart of gold and a gentleness matched by none.
