MRS LON PALMER DIES

Mrs Mamie Bell Palmer, 64, died in Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott October 6th, following a heart attack at her home in Garland Kan. Mrs Palmer was born December 7, 1898 in Mulberry. She attended the Mulberry schools and was married to Lon Palmer August 23, 1916 in Girard. Survivors include her mother Mrs Minnie Reeder Cox, Bloomington Ill, the widower of the home, five daughters ,Mrs Margie Simpson of rural Fort Scott, Mrs Dorothy Smokewood, Independence Mo., Mrs Helen Shankles , Fort Scott, Mrs Madeline Mayfield, Wichita and Mrs Irma Stumfoll, Fort Scott, three sisters, Mrs Bertha Holman, Highland Ind, Mrs Resa Briley Centralia and another sister living on Guam, three brothers, William Cox and Ray Cox, both of Mulberry and Charles Cox of St Louis and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held October1 10 at Cheney Chapel in Fort Scott with the Rev Corporon of Arcadia officiating. Burial was In the Clarksburg cemetery.
