Arliss "Arlie" M. Sowers, 84, of Mansfield passed away on September 11, 2015. He was born on November 10, 1930, the son of Roy and Thelma (Banks) Sowers. Arlie was a graduate of Ontario High School, class of 1948. He retired from McCoy Engineering and also from Richland Engineering. Arlie was a 32 Mason F&AM, a member of Sons of Herman, and a member of the Eagles Lodge. A long time member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, Arlie served on the church counsel and property committee for many years. Passionate about Ohio State football, it truly was his second love next to his wife. In his free time, he enjoyed watching OSU basketball, Cleveland Browns football, playing golf and camping.

Surviving are his wife of over 30 years, Dayna Sowers, whom he married July 13, 1985; son, Christopher Sowers of Plymouth, Michigan; granddaughter, Amy (Jake); great-granddaughter, Isla; brother, Lynn (Jan) Sowers; and sister-in-law, Barb Sowers.

Along with his parents, Arlie was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Sowers, Eugene Sowers, Willis "Toad" Sowers; and sister, Juanita.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 26 Maine Street, Mifflin, conducted by Pastor Jean Coleman.
