She resided her entire adult life near Kemps Mill, except for the last few years in Hagerstown. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsport; and a life member of the Woman's Missionary Society.
She was the widow of Keller Byers Bell, former county treasurer.
Surviving are children, Mrs. Joseph Lore, Jr., Solomons, Md.; Mrs. Watson Phillips, Rockville, Md.; Mrs. Charles l. Downey, Williamsport, Rt. 2; Dr. Houston L. Bell, Roanoke; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Clara Strite, Clear Spring; Mrs. Etta Schnebly, Hagerstown; and brother, Wilson Lesher, Narrows, Va.
Services were held at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, State Senator and Mrs. Charles L. Downey; interment was in the family plot at St. Paul's Cemetery, near Clear Spring.
