Reitmeyer, Betty A.

Betty A. Reitmeyer, age 86, of Kindred Hearts Assisted Living, 5005 Vista Rd., Manitowoc, died peacefully Sunday evening, September 13, 2015.

The former Betty A. Meulemans was born on July 15, 1929 in Greenleaf, daughter of the late Emil and Marie (Nienhaus) Meulemans. She graduated with the class of 1946 from Valders High School. Betty worked at Mirro Aluminum in the office for the next two years. On July 3, 1948, Betty was married to George Reitmeyer at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Maple Grove. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2012. George and Betty owned and operated Reitmeyer's Bar in Cato for 43 years. After their bar closed in 1992, they moved to Whitelaw where they lived until 2010. During those years, Betty worked part time at His and Hers Salon and she volunteered at St. Michael's Grade School. She was a member of the Hilltoppers Homemakers Club. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw since 1948 and has been a 50 year member of St. Michael Christian Mothers.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Sandra (Ralph) Kozlowski, Elburn, IL; Jeanne Grube, Sheboygan; one son: Joseph Reitmeyer, Elmhurst, IL; three grandchildren: Jason (Stacey) Beaupre, Geneva, IL; Michael (Kelly) Kozlowski, Fort Worth, TX; Mark (Debra) Kozlowski, Oswego, IL; five great granddaughters: Annemarie; Jessica; Maya; Emilie; and Anna; two step great grandchildren: Cammi and Kellen Casey; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Terry (Donna) Meulemans, Reedsville; Patsy Meulemans, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Carl (Ruth) Reitmeyer, Manitowoc; Daisy Brennan, Manitowoc; Leonetta (Mitchell) Silver, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Emil and Marie Meulemans; her husband: George Reitmeyer; one son-in-law: Jim Grube; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Robert (Barbara) Meulemans; James Meulemans; John "Jack" Meulemans; one sister and brother-in-law: Helen (Glenn) Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joseph (Emma) Reitmeyer; six brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law: Joseph (Mayme) Reitmeyer; Eleanor (Clarence) Sittman; Alma (Clarence) Carbon; Olive (John) Grall; Marion (Raymond) Jagemann; Kenneth Brennan.

Betty will be sadly missed by family and many friends who were fortunate to have her in their lives. Her warmth and caring nature was bestowed generously on the people she loved. We will hold her in our hearts always.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw. The Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m.

The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the Reitmeyer family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank the devoted care givers at Kindred Hearts Senior Living, and the dedicated angels of Heartland Hospice Care for the warm and comforting care they so generously provided for Betty.
