"On Monday morning, March 30th, 1885, Nettie, wife of Mr. John Ellis, of Leaf Valley, aged 24 years, 6 months and 23 days. Mrs. Ellis was taken down with congestion of the lungs last fall, from which she never fully recovered. About a month ago she was brought to Alexandria and remained with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. DeFrate, up to the time of her death. The deceased leaves a husband and three small children to mourn her untimely end. The remains were taken to Leaf Valley yesterday for interment."
