She moved to Albion as a senior in high school, and graduated from Albion High in 1942. Lynnette joined Dale in California where he was stationed in the U.S. Army Air Corps and after the war, Dale and Lynnette returned to Albion and started a family and their own dairy farm on Cherry Hill Road. Lynnette and Dale also owned and operated the "Corner Store" at the intersection of Knapp Road and Route 6N in Conneaut Township. Lynnette had a passion for reading, writing, recording local history, golf, birdwatching, flower gardening and family. She was a member of Albion Grace United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Dale (married March 30, 1945); a son, Gordon Fobes of Albion; a son, Roger Fobes of Albion; a brother, Loren "Bud" Godfrey of Erie; and two sisters, Wanita Hayes of Ripley, N.Y., and Margaret "Gayle" Brandon of Girard.
She is survived by a brother, David Godfrey (Barb) of Conneaut, Ohio; a sister, Nancy Maya of California; a son, Gary Fobes (Laurie) of Albion; a son, Ron Fobes of Albion; a daughter-in-law, Merlene Fobes of Albion; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Fobes-Jacoby of New Jersey; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Burial will follow in Albion Cemetery.
