Emmit Calvin Faries, 90, was born on March 11, 1925 in Shreveport, LA and passed away peacefully Monday, October 5, 2015. Emmit was the owner and operator of Faries Mobile Trim since 1954. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a longtime member of American Legion, Elks Club, and First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Della Blue and John Mack Faries; sister, Jewel Faries Murray, and brother, Cecil Mack Faries. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy L. Faries; sons, Richard C. Faries and Denise Faries, Mark Faries, Sr. and wife Rae; daughter, Nancy Faries Ross and husband Dennis; six grandchildren, Richard M. Faries, Stephanie Faries, Mark Faries, Jr., Kathryn Faries, Jeffrey Ross, and Tyler Ross; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA 71101.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Couch Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Pat Day. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Mansfield Rd.

Honoring Mr. Faries as pallbearers are Dennis Ross, Jeffrey Ross, Tyler Ross, Mark Faries, Jr., Richard Faries, Jr., Keith Lockhart, and Robert Furlong. Honorary pallbearer will be Pete King.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Staff at Promise Hospital in Shreveport.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
