James A. "Doc" Barrett

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 22, for James A. "Doc" Barrett who passed away at his home in Trenton on August 20, at 11 a.m. He was 85 years of age.

Services were held at the first Baptist church in Trenton with Rev. Gary Payne, Baptist minister, officiating and Rev. Bob Carroll, Methodist minister, assisted. Services were under the direction of Earnheart Funeral home.

Burial was in Burns cemetery in Trenton.

He was born December 19, 1886, in Trenton and married Miss Lois Ellen Adams September 25, 1910 in Pike, Texas. He was a retired farmer and his pioneer family was one of the first to settle what is now Trenton.

He is survived by his wife of Trenton; four daughters, Mrs. Charles Skaggs of Whitewright; Mrs. Blanche Barrett and Mrs. D. W. May of Dallas; and Mrs. O. R. Gode of New London, Conn; one brother, E. B. (Cap) Barrett; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
