Redding - Richard Morgan Redding, 68, of Lawtey, Florida passed away Friday, October 16, 2015. He was born on May 14, 1947 in Starke to Horace & Ola Mae Redding. Mr. Redding served for 20 years in the Florida National Guard before retiring in 1991. Richard Redding also worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years before retiring in March of 1997. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught the Prime Time Sunday School class for many years. Mr. Redding was a hard worker who enjoyed farming and any type of project. He also loved being with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a godly man that held the respect of many people over the years. He had a heart for service, strong character and integrity.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dale May Redding of Lawtey, three children Christy Perkins of St. Johns, Gene Redding of Orange Park and Brian Redding and wife Kerri of Union, South Carolina. Grandchildren: John Redding, Jay Perkins, Luke Redding, Gabriel Perkins, Jacob Redding, Bryson Redding, Caleb Redding, Anna Redding, Abigail Redding and Ella Redding. He is also survived by his sisters, Vivian Johns of Jacksonville, Sherry Herrin (Matt) of Yulee & Sue Kimbrell (Ronald) of Starke.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18th from 6-8PM at Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawtey. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19th at 11:00AM at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawtey with Rev. Kris Elkins & Rev. Brian Redding officiating. Interment will follow at Long Branch Cemetery in Clay Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Evergreen Baptist Church building fund, PO Box 346, Lawtey, FL 32058. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services and Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel, Starke, Fl. 904-964-5757.
