Illa Jeanette Sells was surrounded by her children on December 16, 2002, when she left this world to begin her new eternal journey. She fought a courageous battle against cancer. She was born May 8, 1935 in Vinson, Oklahoma to Dewey and Alva Vaughn. She graduated Mangum High School in 1953 and married Chesalee Sells in 1954 and had a 33 year marriage until his death in 1987. Jeanette loved reading mystery books, watching mystery movies, gardening, watching the birds in her birdhouse, and spending time with her family. She had a 25 year career in daycare and retired in July from La Petite Academy, where she loved taking care of 'her kids.' Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Chesalee Sells and her sister Patty Western. She is survived by her children Sherry Sells Sahi and husband Asim of Oklahoma City; Sam Sells, wife Linda, grandchildren Heather and Ryan of Oklahoma City; Larry Sells of Oklahoma City, and Cindy Sells Banks and husband Howard of Oklahoma City; sister Shirley Holcomb and Nancy Vaughn; and brother Homar Vaughn; and many other family members and friends. Special thanks to her doctors and nurses of Mercy Hospital and Hospice of Oklahoma County. Services to be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2002, Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
