Rebecca “Becky” Nelan, 55, of Burlington, died 8:04 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at her home.
Born March 1, 1955 in Peoria, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Gwendevier Wally Davis. On May 19, 1977 she married Thomas Nelan in Pekin. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Nelan was a newspaper carrier and previously an Occupational Therapist. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to country music and had recently begun writing poetry.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Nelan of Burlington and Jennifer Flesner of Pekin; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Davis of Pekin and James Davis of Burlington; half sister, Debra Crider of Pekin; five nephews and one niece.
Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.
The funeral service for Mrs. Nelan will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 29th, at Parkside First Baptist Church. The Rev. Marshall Jackman will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
According to Mrs. Nelan’s wishes, her body will be cremated following the service.
