Marie Louise Robinson was the daughter of John Evans Robinson and Sarah Ann Ramey. She married Hinton P. Wright, a lawyer, against her parents' wishes, in March 1870 in Newnan GA. They had two children:
Ida Dent Wright 1871
Albert Spaulding Wright 1873

Marie and Hinton were divorced around 1886 and Marie became a special correspondent of the New York World newspaper. Together with her daughter, she traveled extensively in Mexico and South America, wrote numerous articles and books, and was considered an authority on South America. President Diaz made her an honorary citizen of Mexico.
