Leonard Capelety, age 83, of Mannington, WV passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at West Virginia Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born August 29, 1932 at Deep Valley, WV son of the late Mike Capelety and Hulda Jane Spence Capelety.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gene Carr Capelety of Mannington; one sister, Marie Watson of Baltimore, MD; 4 sons, William Capelety and wife Virginia of Farmington, WV, Leonard Junior Capelety and wife Elisha of Parkersburg, WV, Larry Anthony Capelety and wife Cathy of Morgantown, WV and Rex Capelety and wife Stephanie of Morgantown, WV; a daughter, Linda Jane Spiers of North Carolina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Capelety and a sister, Josephine Elligson.

Leonard was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He retired from Ormet (Aluminum Reduction Co.). He enjoyed golfing and his pets. He was known for chewing his cigars. He did things his way and lived life how he wanted.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 1-3 pm. There will be no funeral services. Cremation will follow as the final method of disposition.
